Data Engineer (Mid-Level) 

Location: Nea Erythraia, Attiki, Greece (Hybrid) 
Type: Full-time

About the Role 

We are seeking a Data Engineer with mid-level experience to join our growing data team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality and availability, and supporting analytics and machine learning workflows. 

The role requires strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and Python-based ETL workflows, combined with experience in cloud environments. You will work closely with software engineers, analysts, and data scientists to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure data operations. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, implement, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data 
  • Develop and optimize data models in relational databases (primarily SQL Server) 
  • Work with Azure cloud services (e.g., Data Factory, Data Lake, SQL Database, Storage) 
  • Build and maintain integrations with external APIs and data sources 
  • Monitor, test, and ensure the quality, security, and integrity of data flows 
  • Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to prepare datasets for reporting and ML models 
  • Automate data workflows using Python and scripting tools 
  • Document data architecture, processes, and best practices 

Required Qualifications 

  • 2–5 years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles 
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases (preferably SQL Server) 
  • Hands-on experience with Python for data processing (Pandas, PySpark or similar) 
  • Experience with ETL/ELT development and orchestration 
  • Familiarity with Azure data services (Data Factory, Data Lake, etc.) 
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices 
  • Knowledge of data quality, governance, and security principles 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ) 
  • Exposure to machine learning workflows (e.g., ML pipelines, feature stores) 
  • Knowledge of GDPR compliance and data protection practices 
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Grafana, etc.)
